If we go back to the use of herbs in the treatment category of aromatherapy, or what is now translated into inhalers, it has been known for over 6,000 years. It began in Egypt. The Egyptians often used burning to obtain a fragrant smell to worship the gods. The Romans received medical knowledge using aromatherapy from the Greeks and developed this knowledge and combined it with other sciences.
Knowledge about aromatherapy and essential oils spread and gained greater popularity after the Crusades, which took place between 980 and 1037 AD.
In Asia, historical evidence confirms that the Chinese have known how to use herbs and fragrances for as long as the Egyptians. A Chinese herbal book, recorded in 2,700 BC, shows that the Chinese were able to extract aromatic compounds from over 300 natural plants. Like the Egyptians, the Chinese used incense burners to worship their gods.
In Thai society, if we talk about a king who loved incense, we must mention King Rama II. Sunthorn Phu wrote about him at the Phu Khao Thong Temple:
"I used to crouch near and smell the fragrance.
The fragrance of the fragrance filled my nose.
The land is gone, the fragrance of the fragrance disappears.
Our fortune is gone, just like the fragrance of the fragrance."
This demonstrates that in Thailand We've been using inhalers for medicinal purposes since the time of King Rama II.
Today, "Yadom" (smelling inhalers) remain a household remedy. According to the 2007 announcement of the Thai Ministry of Public Health, inhalers or ointments for dizziness, faintness, and nasal congestion are listed as the eighth essential medicine item in the household. These are divided into three categories:
Dizziness Inhalers and Aromatic Ammonia
Dizziness Inhalers and Nasal Congestion Relief
Ointment for Relieving Nasal Congestion

Natural essential oils: Different scents in each formula have properties that aid breathing and are beneficial for emotional and mental healing.

Inhalation for symptom relief and mood therapy that is safe for the nervous system in the long term.
Inhalation of nasal inhalers has traditionally been a fundamental practice in the production of herbal inhalation products for relieving various symptoms. Nowadays, however, people use inhaler formulas primarily to refresh the body through the respiratory system. Safety is therefore an important concern, as these products enter the upper respiratory tract and stimulate the brain to induce a sense of relaxation. Choosing products made with natural ingredients is the best option for long-term use, as they do not negatively affect the olfactory system responsible for our sense of smell.
